The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Anchorage Alaska was held September 29th, 2019 at the Delaney Park Strip presented by Lithia Kia of Anchorage Alaska.

Avon teamed up with the American Cancer Society in 2018 to attack cancer from every angle and is the first-ever National Presenting Sponsor of the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer with over 200 events across the country.
I am thankful to have had the opportunity once again to attend this event and represent Avon. A bit colder than last year, but it didn’t seem to damper anyone’s spirit. The live music certainly helped keep us warm as we danced a bit while waiting for the run/walk to begin.
Meeting people and getting the opportunity to hear some of their stories was heart warming. These are some amazing ladies with amazing families that support and love one another. It truly was an honor to meet every single one of them.
Since 1992, the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade has been at the forefront in the fight against breast cancer contributing more than $800 million to breast cancer crusades, educated millions of women about breast health and founded nearly 20 million mammograms and clinical breast exams.
The American Cancer Society started Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks to unite communities in the fight against this deadly disease. Today, Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation. Raising money to help the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and provide patient services like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near treatment, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline.
I look forward to seeing all of you again next year at the next Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Event in Anchorage, Alaska. Hopefully next year it will be a bit warmer.
