 Having been an Independent Avon Representative for over 2 years now; I know what has worked for me. I made President’s Club my first year and I am also a Unit Leader, working towards building my team and reaching higher sales goals. In this post I will be sharing three important tips in selling Avon; Face-to-Face, Online and Fundraisers.  There are more tips I will share in future posts.  For now these are the three top Selling Avon tips that I feel are the most important tips to selling Avon.

Most of my selling is face-to-face; which I love because I like getting to know my customers.  I also promote my eStore online, due to many customers like to shop online and take advantage of the free promotional offers.

Face-to-Face 

The biggest advantage to selling face-to-face is that you can earn more than you can with online sales based on the sales total; however, if you prefer to do all your sales online; you can choose this as a better option for you.

(These earnings do not include specialty items; like clothing, handbags and other items.  You will find an * next to those items in the catalog.  Earnings are 25% on those items. More details at your Avon University).

  • $0 – $49.99: 0%
  • $50 – $149.99: 20%
  • $150 – $294.99: 30%
  • $295 – $439.99: 35%
  • $440 – $924.99: 40%
  • $925 – $1,574.99: 45%
  • $1,575 or more: 50%

Note – NOTICE the % change of only $1.00. If you sold only $145 in Avon product buy something that you will use, share or sell and get those earnings to the next level.  Earn 30% instead of 20%.

Before getting started with selling:

  • First and foremost; if you haven’t, you will need to sign up. Go to StartAvon.com and use reference code: mbrown316.  Click HERE to learn more about getting started selling Avon.
  • Don’t get too overexcited and just start selling Avon. Learn everything you can from your Avon Site.
    • Avon has provided all of the online training tools you need. Through the Avon University you can learn about the product, how to run your business and more!
  • Choose to either purchase a kit or order some products that you will use that you would like to share.
  • Keep an Avon notebook on hand at all times to write down “any” ideas you may have. No idea is a bad idea.  Try it.  It may work.  It may not, but you will never know unless you try.

Note: When I started I had so many ideas come to my mind when I would go to bed.  I found myself not able to sleep at night until I wrote them down; so, I kept a small notebook on my nightstand.  You may want to do the same. 

Face-to-Face selling tips:

  • Start with hosting a party in your home with your friends and family members. I had two parties.  I had over $400 in sales with both and earned 40%!! Whoo, Hoo!! That’s $320!!
  • Ask your guests to share your catalog with their friends or host a party. Offer a future discount, shopping credits or gift if their friend orders.  Come up with some sort of incentive.
    • Create a flier you can put inside your Avon catalogs.
  • See if there are any bazaars in your area that you can participate in. I like to sell products and give out brochures to those who request one. Don’t just give your catalog to everyone.  (I made this mistake).  If they request a catalog ask them if you can send them a text reminder just before your next order goes in.  .
  • Get business cards made. Either make your own to start or get some made.  I feel spending the money is worth it because they look more professional than making them.
    • Post your card to bulletin boards.
    • Give them out to people you know.
    • Give them to sales people. Whoever you feel comfortable giving a card to.
  • Tell “everyone” you know that you sell Avon; local and out of state. Your out-of-state friends can order directly from your eStore.
  • If you would like to purchase catalogs and leave them places you can do that. Be sure all of your contact information is included.  Consider purchasing labels that you can put on the front with discount codes and all of your information.

Online Selling Tips:

Your Avon E-store – Your e-rep site is where you will send your customers to order online.  It will be similar to mine – http://www.youravon.com/mbrown316 (of which I tagged to http://TrustedBeautySales.com – want).   Earnings without effort!  Earn 20% earnings (25% for President’s Club & above) on all orders that Avon delivers directly to your Customers (Direct Delivery).  Your own online eStore Open 24/7 for sales 24/7 – personalize and share it with everyone.

  • If you decide to purchase business cards; consider spending a little more money and put your eStore address on the front of the card as well as the back with the WELCOME and THANKYOU20 codes. With these codes your customers can save 20% on their order of $50 or more.
  • #Get social – Posts and videos in the Social Media Center at your Avon site will help promote your business.
  • Automated e-mails – sent on our behalf to your customers to motivate them to buy. You can choose to either have this on or off.  I like to put all of my customer’s e-mail addresses in my gmail account so I can personally e-mail them.
  • Share on facebook, twitter, pinterest, linkdin, Google+ and Instagram. You will want to create a separate facebook.  Mine is Trusted Beauty Sales.  Be sure to read the Avon Policies – You are NOT allowed to use Avon in your facebook name!!
  • Host a Facebook party.
  • Write a blog. On blogs you can share whatever you would like.  This is a great way to reach and share more than you can on facebook or other social platforms.
  • Get a decal for the back of your car with your information and e-store on the back. I just decided to order mine a few days ago and am excited to see the results of it.  Here it is:

Avon Fundraisers:

One more way to earn is Fundraisers.  I’m sure there is a group in your area that would like to do a fundraiser.  Stop at a car wash and give out information on having an Avon fundraiser.  Contact the Booster club of your local school.  Go to your church and offer to do a fundraiser for one of the ministries.  Perhaps a teen camp or kids camp.    

Fund-raising means networking with a variety of people. Everyone you contact is a potential Customer, a source of referrals or a prospective recruit.

Every Fund-raising order counts toward your Award Sales and Earnings Level. If you are currently in President’s Club, Fundraising sales can boost you to a higher level of achievement and add to your total President’s Points.

Increase Your Earnings Immediately

A small group with only 20 participants selling $15 worth of products to just 10 Customers each gives you a $3,000 order—entitling you to 50% earnings in that campaign. You decide what percentage of the $1,500 will go to the Fund-raising organization. The rest is your profit!

Business Tools – Here are a few recommendations

  • Order books (get 1 or 2.  These are the carbon order books) – free
  • Credit Card forms (5-10.  These are to use when your customers want to pay by credit card) – free
  • Delivery bags – LARGE POPCORN BAGS and MEDIUM PLASTIC BAGS recommended.
  • Plastic Brochure Cover – I have three of these that I use for MY catalogs.  It helps to have a book that I can write in, put tabs on the pages, etc. and it is protected by the plastic cover.  I reuse the same covers over and over.
  • Samples it is good to have fragrance samples and Anew samples on hand, but only if you want to.  Customers will usually ask for specific things and you can just buy them as needed.  I put a sample into every customer delivery bag.  People like free stuff.  This is important!  You can either order online or order from the What’s New catalog you will receive from Avon.
  • Clear Literature Bags –  This is the Avon bag with the hole cut out for a door knob You can choose to hang on doors or you can tuck the plastic inside of the brochure and toss on driveways from your car.   
  • Order Book – This is the book that comes with the carbon paper in the back that can be used when you take orders from customers. These can be found under sales tools, then Business tools Supplies. Note – You can also purchase a Hard pink cover that the order books fits into if you wish to look more professional – item#129-842  
  • Brochures – You don’t have a business without ordering some brochures.  Learn more recommendations when you join my team
