The History and Science
Micellar originates from France, with its usage in skincare dating back to 1913.
Micellar water was developed in 1991 by a company called Bioderma.
Because it is free of alcohol, it is gentle but also highly effective at removing dirt, makeup, and oil to help clear out pores.
While toning the skin micellar water promotes skin hydration, reducing irritation and inflammation, keeping your skin soft, supple, and smooth .
Made with a balanced pH purified with hydrating ingredients such as glycerin and cleansing agents called surfactants.
These surfactants bind together in small concentrated clusters called micelles, which act as magnets to attract oil, debris and dirt.
The tiny cleansing molecules are suspended in water to draw out impurities without drying skin.
Micelles get activated by saturating a cotton pad with the formula and sweeping over your face rearranging the micelles for optimal cleansing.
How To Use Micellar Water In Your Skin Care Routine
Skin experts say that you need a full cycle of double cleansing twice a day. I prefer to use it in the morning and wash with rice water cleanser in the evening.
Use It for Toning Your Skin. Gently refresh your skin without stripping it. You can use it after cleansing with a facial cleanser to add hydration and freshen your skin.
Use as a makeup remover by soaking a cotton pad or cotton ball then simply wipe off.
Touch up eyes or lips by using a brush and gently removing excess.
To remove your eye-makeup you can douse a pad then hold the pad over your eyelid for a few seconds before wiping away.
If you feel like you have too much makeup on your face you can touch up with micellar water.
Clean Your Makeup Brushes by dousing cotton pad then pinching the brush between the pad or rub the brush over the pad.

Review of Micellar Water
My beauty routine is all about hydration. Anew Micellar Water is what I use as my morning facial cleanser and in the evening I use Rice Water Cleanser.
In the morning I don’t wash my face right away. Coffee is first in the am along with feeding the dog, reading when I can, watching the news and sometimes working out.
Afterwards, I cleanse my face with micellar water without needing to rinse afterwards. My skin feels hydrated and ready for moisturizer and makeup.
