Can you have success selling Avon? The answer is “Yes.” But before you jump in thinking you are going to make some quick cash; you might want to read this post first.
If you are looking to get out of your current job right away or wanting to make an income from home right away; Avon is NOT for you. Avon is not a get rich quick scheme. It takes time and a strong desire to succeed at it.
I don’t say this to discourage you from becoming an Avon Representative. I say it to be realistic. I have seen a lot of Avon Representative Blogs that just share the opportunity. I don’t know how long it took them to get to where they are, but I believe that every “successful Avon Representative” has put a lot of time and effort into their business.
I started my Avon business by having a party with friends and family. I sold over $450 in product and earned 40%. I did this twice; so, I was off to a good start. Within the first 2 months, I had over $2,000 in sales. I was on my way. Since then I have sold product at bazaars and received orders from those bazaar contacts. I have created a large customer base and have made great contacts for fundraising opportunities and have a down-line of representatives.
Because I set my goals high; I have had those discouraging moments. I have made the mistake of thinking that everyone is going to love Avon as much as I do and that once they get a catalog in their hands they are going to order. That is not the case. Not “Everyone” is going to want to shop Avon. It takes time to find those who do, but once they do; they will be back. Perhaps not right away. The average customer shops Avon 3 times per year. So, there is a need for a lot of customers.
In order to build a customer base you need to get out there. Let everyone know that you sell Avon. Have all your current customers give you referrals. Use your creativity. Giving discounts to new customers, offering loyalty cards. If you have an idea; try it. See what sticks. I have tried a lot of different things. Some have worked and some haven’t.
At Easter; I made baskets and posted them on facebook. I sold over $200 in baskets. I didn’t know if it would work, but it did.
It boils down to not giving up. Anyone can become successful with Avon. There are many who have. Avon has great tools to get Avon Representatives off to a great start. Your own eStore, social media, samples, catalogs, support.
