Astringent toners micellar water differences

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between astringents, toners and miceller water and what they are?  I wanted to know so I did some research on the products and thought I would share it with you.

Astringents are used to remove dirt and excess oil from your skin. Most people who suffer from acne due to oily skin will choose to use an astringent; however, astringents contain alcohol and if you have normal to dry skin you may be doing more damage to your skin because you are stripping it of natural oils and causing your skin to become more dry.

Toners will not strip your skin of natural oils and therefore if you have natural to dry skin a toner would be a better choice.  A toner will not only gently cleanse the skin, but also add moisture to your skin and help balance your pH levels.  By using a toner you are supplying your skin with essential hydration.

Micellar Water is my choice.  Micellar water effectively cleanses skin of makeup, dirt, oil and impurities.  Helps reinforce skin’s protective moisture barrier to keep skin feeling resilient, and preps skin to receive the optimal results for Anew moisturizers and treatments. Formulated with Isotonic Water Complex, it works to attract and maintain moisture so skin feels softer and more revitalized.

I have used all three and can say that astringents have dried my skin out.  I have used toners and they work great; however, I prefer the micellar water because I get optimal results of my Anew moisturizers and treatments.  I have noticed since I started using it on a regular basis that I no longer suffer from dry skin.  I wash my face in the evening before bed and use the micellar water in the a.m before I apply my Anew treatments, moisturizer and makeup.  I am always amazed at the dirt that ends up on the cotton ball.  I am truly thankful that I added it to my skincare routine.
